Change of Status

Certain “non-immigrants” (those in the US for a temporary period) and who are in current legal status may change from one status to another. Some common examples are the following:

• Temporary visitors on B visa
• Students on F-1 visa and their family members on F-2
• Exchange visitors on J-1 visas
• Temporary workers and their family members on H, L, O, P and R visas
